Before we took on the responsibility of wearing many hats, as Mothers, Wives, and caretakers, untrained and/or unguided, we were Women. And through time and circumstances, we have become separated, detached from that, and feel selfish trying to reconnect to ourselves. You are not alone, and you have a safe space with us. Here at Head Start, it is our purpose to guide you to the restoration of your mind, body, and spirit with our Women’s Empowerment group. Our monthly meetings will consist of ways in which we share ideas, stories, and inspiration to uplift and support who you are and who you are Becoming.
Facilitating these groups will be our Family Service Coordinator, Ms. Sylvia Evans and our Family Worker, Ms. Shalena Lewis, women, whom like yourselves are open to learning and growing through, whatever challenges life may have instore for us. Because we all have areas of development, regardless of our position in life, let us celebrate the strength that has brought you this far, nurture the goals you have inside and remind ourselves that we are all connected by the Sisterhood of Womanhood, that self-care and self-preservation is a necessity if we are to continue to support not only our wellbeing but that of our children, our families, our communities and ultimately the world. We are the “rockers” of the cradle of humanity, and since you cannot feed from an empty bowl, come eat with Us.
